IHSS Consortium is now Homebridge

Beginning Monday, March 2nd, In-Home Supportive Services Consortium became Homebridge. 

For 20 years, the IHSS Consortium has provided specialized home care services and workforce training to the City of San Francisco.  We began as a collection of non-profit neighborhood programs advocating for improvement in the delivery of in-home supportive services (IHSS) to the elderly and people with disabilities. 

Today, we are a $23 million not-for-profit agency with more than 550 employees in San Francisco and San Mateo Counties.  Our programs include providing contract-mode IHSS to San Francisco County and also to San Mateo through the Health Plan of San Mateo.  Through our training academy, we provide a high level of specialized training not only to our own field-based workforce but also to Independent Providers in San Francisco County, to participants in the San Francisco Health Care Academy and to private home care agencies.  More recently, we have introduced an online registry through which the general public can find skilled home care workers available to provide care on a private-pay basis.  And we are just bringing a new service out of pilot in San Francisco where our specially-trained staff help patients successfully transition home from hospital ERs with immediate and short term support.

While we are no longer the small community consortium we once were, we remain true to our community roots.  Quality, customer-focused home care delivered by an appropriately skilled workforce is central to the success of our mission – to allow the elderly and people with disabilities to live safely in their homes and in the communities of their choice.
